Rockets guard Kevin Porter Jr. scores 32 at Jamal Crawford’s pro-am

Young Houston Rockets guard Kevin Porter Jr. took time out of his busy offseason to play in The Crawsover Pro-Am, run by former NBA standout Jamal Crawford. Saturday’s games also featured several other current players, including Dejounte Murray and Lonnie Walker of the San Antonio Spurs and Jordan Poole of the Golden State Warriors.

Crawford’s pro-am takes place in Seattle, which happens to be Porter Jr.’s hometown. Undoubtedly, that provided extra incentive for the 21-year-old rising star to participate alongside some of his peers.

A 6-foot-4 guard and formerly a first-round pick from the 2019 draft, Porter Jr. averaged 16.6 points and 6.3 assists in 32.1 minutes per game in 2020-21, which was his second NBA season and first with the Rockets. He’s considered to be a key part of Houston’s young core to build around in coming years, per general manager Rafael Stone.

See below for a compilation of videos and social media updates from Porter’s impressive appearance on Saturday afternoon. He finished with 32 points, 14 rebounds, and 7 assists for the game.
